Our Story

Gather 'round kids, it's story time...

Nöz was founded in 2018 by a group of environmental scientists with a mutual passion for outdoor activities. One day they were hanging out, and after a few, uh... soda pops, they started talking about sunscreens, as science nerds often do.

The scientifically-gifted, yet party banter-challenged group of dreamers discussed how most sunscreens were very harsh on the environment, and any environmentally-friendly ones available were prohibitively expensive. They wanted to build a viable solution from the ground up, rather than doing the bare minimum to call themselves eco-friendly like many brands tend to do. The rest- as corny narrators often say- was history. The self-proclaimed group of science nerds set out to make the best darn sunscreen in the whole solar system and make it look darn good, too.

Fast forward past the years of research and brainstorming solutions and all the other game-changing-yet-boring details. We at Nöz have come up with a few unalienable features of sunscreen to make sure they checked off all of the necessary boxes. These features include: absolutely zero animal testing or cruelty, a vegan formula, reef-safe, skin-safe, a variety of SPF choices to match every skin tone, and a range of colors to fit every style.

Furthermore, Nöz strongly believes in giving back to help keep our planet healthy and beautiful. That's why every bottle purchased equates to donating one dollar to help preserve our oceans. That's a lot of happy fishies.
